It started with the idea of drawing animals on the Albert Cuyp markt, eating stroopwafels. I loved drawing the city around it so much, that I decited to draw the rest of this beautiful city too, with al the \"people\" in it. Just as animals, like I usually like imagining. With neighbours I actually am showing a part of Amsterdam that has nearly disappeared, as most neighbours in Amsterdam don't even know eachother anymore. But living in de Jordaan, I know how it used to be. Having coffee with a neighbour and keeping an eye out for them used to be the norm. I am happy to know my neighbours in the building at lest and we still keep an eye out for eachother.
