It started with the idea of drawing animals on the Albert Cuyp market, eating stroopwafels. I loved drawing the city around it so much, that I decited to draw the rest of this beautiful city too, with al the \"people\" in it. Just as animals, like I usually like imagining. Like any city, Amsterdam is constantly changing. Things can look one way and you come back a year later to find it completely different. De Liefde  (The Love) is the name of a building on a treet by the same name. The street bears the name of a church by that name that used to be situated there. I discovered the gate that leads to the building when I just moved to Amsterdam and have always loved the name and the art in the gate.
